Christchurch Regatta

Another spectacular Christchurch Rowing Regatta on a warm and sunny Saturday produced some surprises for the many participants and spectators, not least in the weather, with torrential rain only ten minutes after completion of prize giving sending the dispersing crowds running for cover.

J16 Boys’ crew Kit Mersey, Harry Lawton-Hurst, George Robinson, David Parker(str), Katya Cherskova(cox), fought it out to the line with BTC to clinch first place, with another win from Jaz Hunt in the Ladies Junior Sculls.

A brilliant day of racing for the club with great performances by all and wins from the 'Ladies Novice' crew, Charlotte Corderey, Annabelle Peacock, Holly Strange, Issy Booth & Grace Tebbutt, the 'Ladies Senior Pair', Christie Quinn & Jaz Hunt and the 'Men's Novice Scull' - Harry Foley.

What a brilliant day - thank you to all who participated. We raised over £6000 which has allowed us to put £3000 towards a new boat and donate £1000 to each of the following local charities - Christchurch Food Bank, Macmillan Caring Locally and Tourettes Action.

Airing this spring - The BBC3 documentary 'Invasion of the Job Snatchers'. Filmed locally, one of the participants had a go at rowing and bought the film crew along to record the event.
