Peter Staddon

President

Peter is responsible for the planning, organizing and carrying out of any responsibilities associated with the Club's Chief Executive Officer role. 

 

Peter joined the club as a coxswain in 1960 and commenced rowing in 1966. He won Novice, Junior and Junior / Senior and became a Hants and Dorset race official in 1972.

 

Peter joined the club committee in 1967 and has held several officer positions. He was appointed Chairman in 2002 and President in 2012. He is currently President of the Hants & Dorset rowing association.

 

Mark Sims

Chairman

The chairman is responsible for the co-ordination, direction and leadership of the management committee on all aspects of operational management. He supports the management committee members and other personnel in carrying out their roles and responsibilities, providing advice and support as appropriate. He makes decisions on organisational matters. 

 

Mark originally joined CRC in the late 70s and progressed through the sculling and rowing statuses until leaving in '85. He kept in touch by attending the infamous Boxing Day regattas until re-joining after moving back to the area in 2009.

Secretary

The secretary is an officer of the club and is responsible for holding the minutes of the monthly meetings and other administrative tasks. 

Mike Kelly

Treasurer

Mike is responsible for the collection of all monies, depositing monies, paying bills, issuing receipts, maintaining accurate accounts, preparing year end statements and keeping up-to-date records of all financial transactions. He supports the management committee in a financial and administrative capacity. 

 

Mike has been a member of CRC since 2000, having been inspired to try rowing after the Sydney Olympics.  The highlights of his rowing career have been qualifying and racing at Henley Royal Regatta in 2007 and 2009 and racing for the Bideford Bowl in 2006 – although he didn’t win any of these races!  He currently competes as part of the Masters group in both sculling and rowing events.

Terri Fox

Memberships

Terri receives and processes all membership applications and manages the club renewal process. She maintains the current new members list and monitors the banking of all membership fees.

 

When the ladies rowing squad reformed in 1978, Terri was a part of the team,rowing at several levels and has been a member ever since. She has held several management roles during this time. 

 

Paula Keane

Social Chairperson

Along with a team of members Paula plans and organises social and fundraising events within the club.

 

Paula joined the club in August 2016 and is a member of recreational rowing.  Paula moved to Christchurch with her husband Mike in March 2016 and they are currently renovating a property in Mudeford.

 

Her previous experience of rowing is on the Tideway and she also assists her son Paul Keane with running and development of Team Keane Sculling School. Paula enjoys rowing and looks forward to engaging members in social activities and community projects.

Fiona Walton

Communications Consultant

By working closely with Jenny (CRC welfare officer) Fi's role is to help people access the information they want and need from CRC in the best way. And, working with the entire management committee, to help inspire an increasingly engaging culture within the club.

Bar / Lounge Manager

The bar manager is responsible for all things relating to the management of the Bar.S/he is also responsible for application of extension licence. S/he ensures adequate stock is maintained and organises staffing for events.

Sue Wagner

Lounge Bookings

Sue is responsible for the scheduling, booking and payment arrangements for the club lounge. She acts as the coordinator for the club lounge.

 

Sue joined in 1977 as a social member later joined social committee then as kids got older strayed to the rugby club and sailing club. Re joined in the early 1990's when Caroline started rowing as a junior, followed by Natalie who mainly coxed, re started a social committee as there wasn't one, then took over lounge bookings in the late 1990's

Club Captain

The Captain is responsible for the Club's rowing provisions being maintained and fairly distributed amongst all members of the Club. S/he ensures that satisfactory activities are organised to meet the racing and social needs of the Club. S/he attends regular meetings relating to Club affairs and helps to ensure all members adhere to the Club's Code of Conduct and other relevant policies.

James Mckenna

Men's Captain

James supports the Club Captain and coaches to organise the allocation of equipment for the Men's Squad. They are responsible for the logistics involved with the training and racing of the various crews within the squad.

Tara Myring-McCullagh

Ladies' Captain

Tara works with the Club Captain and coaches to organise the allocation of equipment for the Ladies' Squad. She is responsible for the logistics involved with the training and racing of the various crews within the squad.

Martin Seccombe

Men's Novice Co-odinator

Martin works alongside the Club Captain to co-ordinate the allocation of coaches and equipment to novice rowers. He organises set crews and coxes for regular water sessions. 

Lucy Hanney

Ladies Novice Co-ordinator

Lucy works alongside the Club Captain to co-ordinate the allocation of coaches and equipment to novice rowers. She organises set crews and coxes for regular water sessions. 

Sarah Clarke

Junior Co-ordinator

It is Sarah's responsibility to coordinate the junior section of the Rowing Club. She helps coordinate the junior learn to scull program.

 

Sarah liaises with the Club's Water Safety Advisor and Welfare Officer as necessary to ensure the Club policies are being followed. She also arranges and attends regular meetings with parents and helps organise and participates in fundraising events.

 

Sarah is a former rower whose son currently rows for the club.

Jenny Gould

Welfare Officer

It is Jenny's responsibility to provide information and advice on protection of children and vulnerable adults within the Club and to ensure the Club adopts and follows BR Safeguarding and Protecting Children Policy and procedures. She also administers the Club’s DBS checks.

 

Jenny receives information from athletes, coaches, young people or their parents who have concerns about the welfare of young people or vulnerable adults and records those concerns, assesses the information promptly and takes action where appropriate. She advises the club officers and coaches on appropriate levels of child protection, training and organises relevant training if required.

Stan Livy

Entries Secretary

Places all regatta entries on behalf of the club.

Mike Green

Water Safety Advisor

It is Mike’s responsibility to advise the Club and assist with their compliance of current health and safety legislation and regulations plus British Rowing’s RowSafe recommendations.

 

He regularly reviews and updates the Club’ Risk Assessments, carrying out any audits required and produces monthly formal safety report  for Club Committees. Carries out British Rowing mandatory annual Water Safety Audit.

 

He also ensures that members compile and submit to BR reports of any water related accidents or incidents.

 

Mike has a long standing affiliation with Rowing, being a Gold Level Coach,  BR Coach Tutor/Assessor and is currently the Wessex Region Coach Representative sitting on the BR National Coaching Committee.

Masters Representative

Attends monthly Rowing Committee needs as a representative of the Masters squad.

Attends monthly Rowing Committee needs as a representative of  our Recreational Rowers.
