1. Bar Manager Job Description

Job Title:             Bar Manager

Reports to:          Lounge Manager

Direct reports:    Bar staff both paid and volunteer

 

Role Purpose:

The job is to ensure the smooth running of the bar during weekly lounge hire events and to ensure that it is ready for Club events.  The incumbent will be the lead for the weekly lounge hire, running the bar and being the Club representative for the hirers and external entities.

 

The incumbent will ensure that all the needs for the lounge hire events are met and would be present at least two events per month, to ensure its smooth running. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the events are fully staffed with paid bar staff, and potentially volunteers.

 

The person will also be responsible for ensuring that the bar is ready for use for Club events, where they may not be necessarily working and could be staffed by volunteers.

 

Admin tasks that are included in the responsibilities can be completed at any time, to ensure the goals are met or health and safety standards are maintained.

 

Duties:

Areas of responsibility are the bar and the cellar. 

 

• Bar and fridge cleaning

• Lines cleaning

• Training of paid staff and volunteers

• Appropriately scheduling staff to cover events

• Working functions once per two week cycle

• Hiring and scheduling staff

• Cellar maintenance

• Stock ordering

• Handling complaints

 

Training will be provided where necessary

 

Person Specification:

Bar experience

Good administration skills

Reliable

Available to work most Saturday nights

Customer service skills

 

Remuneration

 

Annual Salary will be £5250, paid monthly in arrears.

Hours (two week cycle)

 

Week 1

10 hours per week - 18:30 to 00:30 Sat evenings for events (Mostly Sat but could be other days) plus

4 hours flexible for administration

 

Week 2

 

4 hours flexible administration.

2. Bar Staff - Friday & Saturday Evenings (Competitive rate of pay)

Some experience preferred.
