Ryde Regatta 18.05.19
A good start to the IOW weekend, the weather held and the conditions were flat calm which bode well for an excellent day's racing. The women's Senior 4 battled hard against Coalporters, losing out in the last 100m to a surge from the Southampton based club. There were successes for the Women's masters 4 of Lucy Hart (bow), Julia Fabrizi, Emma Fairclough, Sara Glen, coxed by Victoria Robinson who comfortably beat Southampton, BTC and Coalporters, Will Tate also enjoyed a comfortable win in the Men's novice sculls, a scattering of 2nd and 3rd places over men's and women's 4s, pairs and singles event meant Christchurch finished the day as joint points aggregate, victor ludorum winners with another of their Southampton rivals, BTC.
Shanklin Regatta 19.05.19
Christchurch Rowing Club, having been top performers at both Milford and Ryde Regattas, enjoyed a more subdued set of performances at Shanklin Regatta on Sunday. Missing out on wins in all of the event in which they had been most successful so far this season.
The regatta was not without its successes and performances however with a Ladies Masters combination of Tara Myring-McCullach (bow), Lucy Hart, Rachael Williams and Sara Glen with Vicky Robinson coxing winning comfortably for the second time of the weekend.
The Ladies Junior Pair of Emma Brangan and Izzy Langridge finished a creditable second place, with the Mens Novice 4 of Tom King, Bay Hill, Christian Pengelly and Reece Brewster with Maddie Grainger coxing also managing a strong third place in their race.
The club will now look forward to its own regatta on 1 June.
